The journey to France was long but enjoyable! The day started by being waved off by parents , members of staff and some of our classmates at 10:30 when we departed from school. This was followed , roughly , by a two and a half hour coach journey to where we would eat our lunch and get on the Euro Tunnel Train (to continue part two of our journey)
On our way to the second destination we voted to watch a movie and Alvin and the Chipmunks was selected - we watched, listened and sung to the songs sung by the squeaky voices of the chipmunks much to the teachers’ delight! Shortly after the film , we arrived at the Euro Tunnel where we exited the coach to eat our lunch. We started to eat our lunch in a playground where we then hoped to play in but after a couple of bites of our sandwiches we had to sprint as fast as we could to get out of the rising thunder storm and into the Euro Tunnel’s service station! We made it into the service station by the skin of our teeth , remaining dry! We then went on to eat our lunch inside the service station.
We departed the lounge at around 1:30 where we had to bravely run to the coach in the showering rain.We boarded the Euro Tunnel close to 2 o’clock where we then had an hour or so of amusement for being under the ground and under the sea!
Arriving in France - we officially arrived in France close to quarter past three , we then spent the last part of our journey in the coach watching a French film called ‘The Choir’ and sleeping or talking with friends and teachers. We prayed the rosary and remembered Miss Clarks’ mum and then with the help of Manon we practised our French and sang some French songs.
At last we arrived an hour late in Ozoir La Ferriere because we were delayed at the Eurotunnel and there was a big thunderstorm but we were greeted by Lucie, our guide who was waiting for us at the gate. Finding our rooms was exciting - we all have en-suite rooms!! We had a delicious dinner of ‘pommes frites’ (although we were all actually quite full because we had eaten so much on the coach).
Sounds like you're all enjoying yourselves. Looking forward to the next blog post and some photos. Keeping enjoying and making the most of this fabulous experience. Xx
